NEW SCHOOLS IN UGANDA AND IRELAND: A new school in Donegal, Ireland, has
joined I*EARN, and new schools in Uganda will be joining over the next
month. 
  
THE TEDDY BEAR PROJECT: This project was awarded 2nd prize in the
Non-Profit Organization section at the Cable and Wireless 
sponsored by Childnet Awards in London on January 15th 1998.
Congratulations to Muriel Wells, Facilitator of The Teddy Bear Project, as
well as to all those who contributed!

teams in Afghanistan and Mozambique. Students are asking questions and
receiving answers from people in the field. To join the discussion, send

INTERNATIONAL CYBER FAIR PROJECT: The Secondary School Brezice in Slovenia
is participating in this project with a ' Value which means a lot to me'
entry. Their research highly depends on your good will to answer their
questionnaire in iearn.teachers. Soon you'll be able to see the results

CELEBRATIONS PROJECT: If you would like to get involved in the
Celebrations Project (with students researching festivals, events,
sporting finals or anything important to the students' nation or culture),

FIGHT AGAINST CHILD LABOR: The Kids Online March Against Child Labor asks
for support from I*EARN's Fight Against Child Labor Project. Each email
message counts as a mile in a "march" across the USA in support of the

A SEASON FOR NONVIOLENCE: January 30, 1998 marked the 50th memorial
anniversary of the assassination of M.K. Gandhi. Two months later, on
April 4th, 1998, we commemorate the 30th anniversary of the assassination
of Dr. Martin Luther King. Join the I*EARN Stop Violence iearn.violence

THE TEDDY BEAR PROJECT: A couple of classes await matches for years 8 - to
10 - 13 to 16 year olds. If anyone would like to register please send your
Name, Grade level, School Name, Full Postal Address (including your

THE HOLOCAUST/GENOCIDE PROJECT: The HGP iearn.hgp invites any schools
that deal with the teaching of tolerance as an action against racism,
prejudice, and anti Semitism, to join our students as they publish the
global magazine, An End to Intolerance. Deadline for articles was January
15th, but the date has been extended to February 6th. See iearn.hgp or

BEAUTY OF THE BEASTS: Elementary school children are invited to capture
the grandeur and magnificence of animals indigenous to their areas through
original artwork and poetry. Work will be compiled into a worldwide
exhibit and displayed in Miami, Florida, March 15-25, 1998, and at the
American Museum of Natural History, NYC, April 23, 1998. Write to Rowena

HELLO SPRING PROJECT: This project will begin again this spring for the
4th time, integrating natural sciences, informatics, mathematics, social,
sciences, languages, and creative subjects. Visit

INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION OPPORTUNITY: A private, bilingual school in
Honduras, Central America, with about 300 students in pre-school through

YOUTH CAN 1998 CONFERENCE: The conference will take place on April 23rd
with the theme of biodiversity. More than 800 students in Austin, Texas,
and 850 students in New York City attended YouthCaN 1997. Through
telecommunications, students from Australia, Spain, Argentina, Belarus,
