THE ODYSSEY WORLD TREK: The Odyssey is sending a U.S.team to

FOLK SONGS: Participants will create audio cassettes with folk 
songs from their region/country and send them together with a 
description, paintings, drawings, photos, etc. related to the 
songs to everyone else, and they will receive cassettes and 
information from all the others. All ages. Oct 1-June 1999.

PROVERBS AND SAYINGS: Students and teachers collect proverbs 
and sayings from their region/country and send them together 
with an English translation, if it's possible. A short true or 
imaginary story connected to each proverb can be attached.

WASTE MANAGEMENT IN SCHOOLS: A new project to raise global 
awareness to the problem of waste management in schools as well 
as suggesting the most efficient methods for waste management. 
Open to secondary school students. Dates: Oct.20-Nov.30

FORUM GLOBAL: Every 2 weeks there will be an on-line debate on 
educational issues, open to parents, teachers and all those who 
might be interested. Debates will be made known in different

INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S CONFERENCE ON THE ENVIRONMENT (ICC): 23 - 25
November 1998, Dunedin, New Zealand. The Conference which is being
organized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the 1998
International Children's Conference Board, Dunedin, will bring together
150 children between the ages of 10 and 12 years to learn and voice their
