ATTENTION TEACHERS IN GHANA, UGANDA, PALESTINE,
ZIMBABWE, AND PARAGUAY. We need brief stories from 
you about how you have used this technology in your classes. We 
would like to highlight your work in the Alliance for Global Learning 
(AGL) Website http://www.global-learning.org. The AGL is a partnership 
between WorLD, Schools Online and I*EARN. Please send your stories in 
English, Espanol, Francais or Portuguese (and photos) to Shirin
at: shirinmm@hotmail.com. We also need people to translate stories 
into/from Spanish, Portuguese, French. We have a small amount of funds 
to help pay for these translations. 

ADVICE FOR PUBLISHING WITH STUDENTS? US Author Chris Weber 
is working on a manuscript for a book entitled "Publishing with Students" 
scheduled for publication in August 2001. He is seeking tips/advice for 
carrying out successful I*EARN publication projects. Please send 1-3 most 
important bits of advice that you would share with a classroom teacher 
about how to be successful in making and carrying out a successful

CONNECTING MATH TO OUR LIVES PROJECT. "Connecting Math to 
Our Lives" is an ongoing and active international project to explore how 
math is used in our communities and how math can be used address issues

"IF ROCKS COULD TALK...WHAT WOULD THEY TELL US?" PROJECT 
SEEKS PARTNERS. A project to promote study of the environment and 
sharing of experiences among students from various geographical regions. 
Students will collect, classify and analyze different types of rocks 
found in his/her community, describe the rock's formation and will 
appreciate their surrounding in its natural state. Through the process 
the students will create visual products (rocks), literary, and mathematics 
(graphs) around the theme "rocks." For a complete description, contact

LOCAL HISTORY WEBSITE. The local history website has been updated 
to include submissions for this year. Schools are invited to participate in 
the project which will continue until June 1st. 2001. See iearn.kidscan

FROM THE LAWS OF LIFE COORDINATOR. Many of you signed up 
requesting additional information, teachers guides and books during 
the International conference in Beijing, China. Unfortunately, the sign-up 
sheet was taken off of the bulletin board early, and was never 
received by the coordinator. If you would still like information about the 
project, if you need a Teachers Guide or a Laws of Life Essay compilation 
book, please contact Sarah Lucas lawsoflife@us.iearn.org. Also, if you 
were a participating school, but have not received your complimentary copy 
of the final book, please let Sarah know.
