100 YEARS-10 DECADES-1 CENTURY. Students look for the ten
 most significant events that have happened in their community,
 and/or the 10 most outstanding people during the 20th.

 LOCAL HISTORY PROJECT: Students research the local history of
 their town or area and post it to iearn.kidscan. See
 users.netconnect.com.au/~skippy/history. Contact Margaret
 Shearn in Australia mshearn@netconnect.com.au. Continuing
 until June 1, 2000. 
 
 "PROVERBS & SAYINGS PROJECT" Students and teachers are invited
 to collect proverbs and sayings from their region/country and
 send them translated in English  with a short explanation of
 the meaning and situation when they are used. A short true or
 imaginary story connected to each proverb can be attached.
 Drawings and pictures are also welcome. Conference:

 "SOLSTICE HOLIDAYS" This project is going to be an extension of
 the "Winter Holidays" project from school year 1998-1999. Share
 customs, songs, pictures, photos and recipes relating to your
 Solstice Holidays (Christmas, New Year's Eve, Hanukah, Ramadan,

 ENVIRONMENTAL CAMP IN SLOVAKIA: Oct 27-Nov 1 1999. To be held
 in Tatry mountains national park. Expecting 80 participants
 from 12 countries of the world. Environmental and multicultural
 activities facilitated by American Peace Corps Volunteers,
 Teachers, Slovak environmental organizations volunteers.  Come
 to visit small Colorado mountains in centre of the Europe.
