Discovery

Description:
The Participants of this project were to write, draw, narrate, describe the theme Discovery. Everyone has got his discovery. There is always something that suprises, pleases or frightens us. Everybobody had the possibility to take part - pupils of the elementary school, their parents and grandparents, students and teachers as well. There were 106 works not only from CR but also from the partner school in England. The youngest participant was a seven-year-old pupil and the oldest writer was 86 years old.The result is a book of texts and drawings.

Motorism

Description:
Students observed traffic at an important crossroads and made a statistics of it. The results were handled to the Townhall where a discussion with the president of th environmental department took place. During the oservatin of the crossroads a reporter of the regional TV Shot interviews with students.Students worked out a questionaire on general problems connected to motorism i CR and sent it out through a student's conference. They got a wreck of a motorbike from a former employee of their school and the would like to repair so that it can be used again. They visited police station where a policeman answered their prepared questions. Everything was recorded on a cassette and then transferd into an electronical form. Works on theme "My adventure in motorism" begin to appear.

Description:
The pupils of fourth class of the elementary school got a new subject in october. It is a subject that shoud teach them about their country. The subject has a geographical part as well. So that they could learn better they asked their friends at a czech conference to send them some interesting information about the place where they live. The pupils created a map of Czech republic with pictures and texts that they received from their friends. They also put the received photos and texts into an album. That will in future be helpful not only for themselves but for their younger schoolmates as well.

Czechs abroad

Description:
There are Czech minorities living abroad that we scarcely know and that's the reason for this project. The minority studied in this this project is the minority in Ukraine. The Institute of Ethnography in Brno and in Prague were contacted. With their contribution and the support of I earn students of fourth year started to collect materials about historical connections and the present state. The cooperation with I earn in Charkov /marina kornijenko/ was set up as well. They carry on with the project in Charkov and got a grant for a tour through Czech republic. Now the students study russian at the University in Brno.

My future career and the view of the school I study

Description:
This project is concerned a questionnaire inquiry among the students in the last year of school. A questionnaire and method of classification were worked out. Everz school that participates in this project receives a general report with entries of all participated schools. Every particapant also receives the second part of the report with brief results of his school. That means that everyone has the possibility to compare his results with the average result of all participated schools.

Chess

Description:
Pupils in the school chess club established a distant chess tournament. The single steps were sent through internet. The climax of everything should be a personal meeting of the participated at a great chess tournament.

New year's best wishes

School: Grammar school Teplice

Description:
The task was to make New year's wish postcard using different graphical techniques or a computer. The size was optional. Pupils of elementary school and students high school took part. Teacher chose the best works and will compose a catalogue. The best works will also be scanned into computer and put on www pages.

Víno

School: Grammar school Mikulov

Description:
The prect Wine aimed to introduce south Moravia with its traditions, people's mentality and the most atractive thing which is wine - the local gift. The potential participants had to get through an "admission" essay on the theme wine. These essays were then printed and published. Between 25th and 27th of august 1998 a meeting in Lednice na Morave took place. As the date wasn't acceptable for everyone the number of participants was changing during the meeting. The average number was about 10. Students visited agriculture school in Lednice where they saw the machines that are used in Wine production. They heard an introduction in history of viticulture and an explanation of the right way of drinking wine. They could also cost the wine. They also visited the chateau and the adjoining park. On the next daz they traveled to Bulhar where they got to know the tochnology of wine production. Collecting, crushing and pressing they could try themseves.

Friendship is what connects us

Description:
This project was not restricted to any type of schools. The condition of participation was knowledge of Englis no matter on what level. Prose was limited by 150-200 words. Poetry had no restriction. The best works were then chosen and put into a callendar that was printed by students in an internet center in Prague.

The flower of my heart

Description:
Pupils of elementary school work on a project concerning flowers. They work on the following themes : "Flowers make our life nicer " , "What's your favourite flower and why" ," My story with a flower " , "What scent does my name have " The pupil draw postcards for friends, they create a herbarium and illustrate a song of a flower.
